CARDIAC THORACIC VASCULAR PERFUSION SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (CTVP SIG)


The CTVP SIG is managed by the Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) partnership, a tripartite body governed by the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA). ACE promotes and co-ordinates combined continuing medical education activities in anaesthesia and related disciplines. It manages 17 SIGs that allow anaesthetists and other medical specialists to study, report and develop educational events in specific areas of anaesthesia in which they have an interest or skills.  ANZCA is the secretariat for the CTVP SIG and one of the largest specialist medical colleges in Australia and New Zealand. The college is the region's foremost authority on anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine.

AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND COLLEGE OF PERFUSIONISTS (ANZCP)


The Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP) is the peak body representing Certified Perfusionists in Australia and New Zealand. It is a not-for-profit, member association committed to professionally supporting its members through serving as a regulatory body to promote and uphold standards, providing high quality education, training and on-going professional development. The ANZCP is a collaborative and inclusive College that aims to further the industry of perfusion, both nationally and internationally.

AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY OF CARDIAC AND THORACIC SURGEONS (ANZSCTS)


The Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons was formed to serve the medicopolitical needs of cardiothoracic surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. It has amalgamated with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery of the RACS. The Society plays an important role in the development of Cardiac Surgery services in Australia. The Society in conjunction with the Cardiac Society maintains the Journal, Heart Lung and Circulation.

International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS)


The International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery was formed to organize and centralize the various surgical centers concerned with patient outcomes, techniques, and progressive development of less invasive forms of heart surgery. Formed on May 31, 1997 by the participants of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at the Palais Des Congres, Paris France, the new ISMICS is taking the leadership role in shaping the direction of less invasive cardiac surgery on a global basis. The founding membership includes representatives from all continents.
